The rich early history of the squirrels, including the white one, was not without violence.

In front of the habitat, there are very large Valley Oaks, reaching up and outward
with precarious life. Up the trunk and on the branches the squirrel families would scramble. For generations their feet have pattered and scraped along the ground. Holy ground. For this is where many have met their fate. -------------------------------- The owls, who lived not a quarter mile away, would come to hunt in times of hunger. Our friend the white squirrel had his great-great-great grandfather taken in the talons of a crazed owl matriarch. The last his family saw of him was a quivering tail ascending into a moonless sky. Ahh, but this was the way of life within the tree habitat. Generally nuts were easy to come by; the water of the nearby creek provided clean water. Life was usually good, and only one or two a generation would ever be Taken. Those that were, were not ever thought of. That would be considered back luck. A blissful ignorance was thought to be superior to all-consuming fear.

Then one day, change was born in the form of a massive, intelligent black owl named Chunky....

Bali!!! Should of been out in Cali couple weeks ago --- could of gotten
tickets to the race in Sonoma... you would of been treated like a
right turn Mogwa. They found a whole bunch of right turns and
put them all in the track there. Beauty.

Used to take visual bearings off the top of the Grand Hyatt.
Home to San Dog and the American Way via Mexican coastline
and Tijuana wandering.
